Check out some of San Diego’s finest, playing downtempo grooves this week for our first official party. We gave you a preview last week for Halloween, now it’s time to get this thing going.

This Saturday night event is an attempt to offer styles of music that are not readily available at other venues. Downtempo music in this case means a more relaxing style of music. It could be disco, funk, soul, house, breaks, electro, techno, Latin, afrobeat, pop or anything else. It will not be loud, fast and noisy. Dancing is always encouraged but relaxing and meeting new people is the primary goal. We will offer refreshments in some form and we will be open late so we hope that members and their friends will come by and hang out with us in order to assure that they can drive home safely later on. This is not a nightclub, it is a new music adventure with a focus on the arts.

The Radio program on groove247.com: In addition to the event we will be broadcasting some of our favorite music Saturday nights on groove247.com. This broadcast is for the late-nighters who want good music to accent their comfort at home. It is also designed for people who go out and later invite their friends over to wind down in a comfortable setting. We will provide the soundtrack, you provide the ears. We plan to develop a live stream from the party and maybe even some games allowing people at home to interact with the people at the party in the near future.

Membership: The membership concept is not an attempt to be elitist. It is a program to interact on a more personal level with the people who are interested in what we do. By becoming a member of this movement you will be able to bring yourself and 5 other guests with you on any Saturday; you will get access to discounted tickets for special events; we will offer free music downloads from our dj/producer friends; and you will get access to live recordings from the party, and downloads of the music you hear on groove24/7. We will also offer giveaways and special offers to our members. Member fees will vary from $5 per week ($20 paid in advance once a month), to one-time trials for $5, barter memberships (for people who trade services with us) and deluxe packages that will include event dinners, clothing and products, original music and more.
